Fabulous Friday - DC, Baltimore, and Home!
Seeing the flag raisers (on a giant scale), checking out DC from the highest structure in the district, saying hello to the pandas, visiting a man who is "nevermore", and walking though a rain forest and under the ocean - what a great way to end a great trip!
After leaving the hotel in a somewhat orderly fashion, we went to the amazing Marine Corps Memorial, based after the famous photograph from the battle on Iwo Jima. From there, we rode to the top of the Washington Monument. From 555 feet, we saw nearly all of the great locations we toured over the past four days - some great closure! A short stay at the National Zoo happened by popular demand, and then it was off to Baltimore.
In Baltimore, we took a quick stop at the grave of Edgar Allen Poe and dined at the Inner Harbor. Our final destination was the National Aquarium, complete with a huge sting ray pool, sharks a plenty, a dolphin show from underwater, and a steamy rain forest. Check out the Friday pictures and video!
